王素博士毕业于伦敦政治经济学院金融系。硕士就读于英属哥伦比亚大学商学院，本科毕业于西南财经大学。在加入上海科技大学创业管理学院之前，她于阿姆斯特丹大学商学院金融系任助理教授。
