So far, SEM has provided two minors to students: Minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MiIE) and Minor in Finance (MiF). MiIE is designed to equip students with a theoretical understanding and practical skills of entrepreneurship and Innovation and to provide students with perspectives, skills, analytical tools, and experiences that prepare them for careers as startup entrepreneurs or corporate innovators. MiF is designed to cultivate inter-disciplinary talents with basic financial knowledge and skills and to build a solid foundation of financial know-how for graduate study or a career in finance.

Currently SEM is planning for a third Minor: Minor in Business Administration (MiBA). It aims to develop students’ managerial capability and competence so that they can play the executive and leading roles in technological firms and research institutions.
