Quality 101

Quality! We desire quality in every aspect of our lives, but do we know how to achieve it? In this introductory course, we will explore human’s pursue for quality and how advancements in technology lead to standardized systematic approaches for assuring quality in modern life. We will also discuss the most widely used quality management system (QMS) in the world, know as ISO 9001. The quality management elements specified in ISO 9001 can be used in any type of business, as well as in your personal life, to achieve high quality results in meeting your goals. Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to explain why quality management is important and how it can be applied to business or personal life, as well as know the basic concepts and common terminology in quality management.


Marketing 101

Marketing 101 is a fundamental marketing course that equips you with the market logics and market strategy. In the market logics section, Marketing 101 provides the analytic perspectives and statistical methods that help you in segmenting, targeting, and positioning your business; while in the market strategy section, Marketing 101 involves you in resolving the real business questions via practicing the famous 4Ps (i.e., Product, Price, Promotion, and Place). By the end of this course, you should have a solid understanding of marketing principles and methods, and be able to apply these theories and tools in the real business settings. As an introductory course of Marketing, Marketing 101 is not that ambitious to develop you as a master of marketing but to encourage you to further study marketing via the advanced marketing courses like Entrepreneurial Marketing, Marketing Research, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Channels, Advertising, etc.


Organizational Behavior and Human Resources

This course is the core of management, the micro aspect of modern management. Organizational Behavior is a field of study on human behavior within organizations. It examines what people think, how they feel, why they think, feel and act in a certain way. The knowledge of this field is gained by methodologies of sociology, psychology, anthropology and other behavioral sciences, and contributes to the practice of managing and organizing people. This course will also talk about human resource management such as recruiting, motivating, organizational design.


Management Science

Management science is a subject that utilizes scientific methods to solve business problems. The methodology and management tools can be applied to a variety of problems: managing a project, running a restaurant, selling air tickets, or growing a start-up. This course offers an analytical framework to improve efficiency, optimize business strategies, and understand customer behaviors.
